HOW IT GOT STARTED

The Story

During the COVID-19 lockdowns in Bangkok I started cooking with my mum to learn her recipes I've enjoyed since childhood. In our home there was always two dinners, my mother's Thai dishes she ate in the late afternoons and my father's western meals eaten in the evening. My brother and I usually ate with dad, but sometimes we ate with mum too. My mother's Thai food are all her own recipes she has mastered and refined over the years focusing on traditional dishes she ate growing up in Nakonsawan’s Thai-Chinese communty and Bangkok.


It took a pandemic for me to learn a new way to express love with and for my mother through food. It also taught me to appreciate her devotion to feeding our family. Because of her I have also been able to share meals with our family and friends during the pandemic.
