Chili Prawns

Writer: Jane HollowayJane Holloway

Super easy 7 ingredient spicy dish for those that like the heat

INGREDIENTS

400 grams prawns

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon dark soy sauce

16 chopped chilis

5-6 garlic finely diced

DIRECTIONS

  1. Devein and peel the prawns. Wash and pat dry

  2. Marinate the prawns in the oyster sauce, salt, sugar, and dark soy sauce

  3. Heat the oil in a wok on high flame. When the oil is hot add the chili with the garlic and stir fry for a couple of minutes

  4. Add the prawns but do not stir fry, allow the prawns to cook and flip them as it turns red. Once both sides are cooked, then stir fry for all the ingredients to combine. this should not take more than 4-5 minutes to cook, depending on the size of the prawns.

Note

- you can reduce the number of chilis depending on your level of spice. Different chilis also vary in intensity. I prefer to use long red chilis instead of bird eye chilis
