Whole Baked Cauliflower with Za'atar

drizzled with olive oil and roasted golden brown in the oven

A plant-based and vegan side dish everyone can enjoy


INGREDIENTS

1 whole head of cauliflower

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon za'atar spice

1 teaspoon chopped parsley

1 tablespoon olive oil


optional

lemon wedges

tahini dressing



DIRECTIONS

  1. Wash and remove the outer leaves of the cauliflower

  2. Turn the oven to 200c

  3. Steam the cauliflower for 15 minutes

  4. Transfer to an oven proof dish and drizzle olive oil over the cauliflower and rub in the oil so its fully covered. sprinkle with salt

  5. bake uncovered for 30 minutes, remove and sprinkle the za'atar evenly over the cauliflower

  6. Return to the oven and cook for another 15 - 30 minutes or until golden brown (time depends on the size of the cauliflower)

  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with parsley. You can also squeeze lemon or drizzle tahini sauce over the cauliflower.



Note:

- Za'atar is a Middle Eastern mix of spices that can be a combination of oregano, marjoram, thyme, sumac, cumin, sesame seeds, and salt. Can be found in Middle Eastern Supermarkets. Otherwise you can substitute this with your own combination of the

se herbs.
